About Us

Since 1997, New Development Corporation has worked to build healthy communities in Grand Rapids and beyond. Whether new construction or rehabilitated, our houses are move-in ready with efficient appliances and all new drywall, paint, flooring and fixtures. Equally important are the parts you don’t see – new electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and insulation. Our energy efficiency programs prioritize needs, find contractors, and develop the scope of work, creating more efficient homes that are safe and sustainable.

We couldn’t do this work without our passionate volunteers, who prove that our mission isn’t just about houses – it’s about neighborhoods and community. Volunteers participate in landscaping, fundraising, debris removal, leadership on our Board of Directors, and the occasional schlepping of donated materials. If you or your group would like to volunteer, please get in touch!

To stay updated on our activities and opportunities coming to your neighborhood, sign up for our quarterly e-newsletter, or, for more information on our financials, check out our latest Form 990.
