About the VITA Tax Program

New Development Corp partners with St. Alphonsus Parish, Creston Christian Reformed Church,  Davenport University and others to provide free income tax preparation for low and moderate-income households through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. VITA is a national volunteer-based program that utilizes IRS-certified volunteers to provide this service.  More than 700 households were served in the last tax season.

Work is accomplished in a computer lab at St. Alphonsus Parish. Volunteers can sign up for as many or as few dated as desired. We provide meals, training and encouragement.
