New Development Corp partners with St. Alphonsus Parish, Creston Christian Reformed Church, Davenport University and others to provide free income tax preparation for low and moderate-income households through the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program. VITA is a national volunteer-based program that utilizes IRS-certified volunteers to provide this service. More than 700 households were served in the last tax season.
Volunteer for VITA
If you would like to become a VITA tax preparer or intake specialist, contact Shelli at 361-7500 or shelli@newdevelopmentcorp.org. Training is provided and we are always eager to expand the team. Work is accomplished in a computer lab at St. Alphonsus Parish. Volunteers can sign up for as many or as few dated as desired. We provide meals, training and encouragement.
